haluksy, paluch koślawy , deformacja stopyThe hallux area is an innate deformation of the foot. It sometimes results from an angular bad positioning of the biggest toe in the joint, as well as the deformation of the bones in the foot, of which the big toe is an extension.
Depending on the severity of the condition it can be divided into two groups. If the change is not advanced, without any major bone deformation the procedure is about changing the soft tissues around the toe, proper positioning and the removal of the excessive joint grease.
More complicated deformations require a correction of the axis of the bone position in the feet. After both of these procedures the patient needs to have the foot encased in a plaster. The wearing time is dependent on the method and lasts from 2 to 6 weeks after the procedure. The effect of the procedure is kept in check through special shoe inserts, as well as proper physical therapy and exercise.
The procedure is absolutely painless. It is usually performed under general, non-sleep anesthetic. It provides a great cosmetic look of the feet.
