Botox is a special substance (neurotoxin) produced by bacteria Clostridium Botullinum. The treatment is a simple, non surgical method used for the smoothening of deep wrinkles on the forehead and in the brow area. The substance is injected with the use of a syringe into a specific muscle, responsible for the mimic of a part of the face. It blocks the reception of nervous impulses by the selected part, which causes them to relax. The effect is the smoothing of wrinkles. The injection itself takes no more than 10 minutes. A very thin needle is used, which depending on individual physical state of the patient might cause a tiny bruise around the injection spot which disappears after a few days. The injection itself is not painful and the patient might have a sensation of a slight electrical current running through the area of injection and numbness of the muscles in the area. Before the procedure the target places are anesthetized with a special cream or ice compresses are used. The treatment of excessive sweating is much more painful, however a special cream can reduce the discomfort after the procedure.
